Before I started Benedek Design Ltd. I worked with a design group that specified numerous ICF projects in the 90's. Once I started my own company I specified ICF for basements as well as demising walls in duplex buildings. The ICF blocks provided a superior sound separation system when compared with the standard 2-2x4 batt insulated walls; which is highly preferable on high end inner city duplexes. With the new residential energy codes coming into effect last fall more client are considering ICF as an alternative to existing construction procedures .
