An all-new 8,000 square foot organic cider mill and event space in the Catskills of New York State. This project is going for Passive House Certification, and features ICF foundations, cedar board siding and roof, stone-filled gabion walls, and killer views down the Delaware Valley. Highly efficient design and energy modeling in conjunction with limited photovoltaic solar panels will render the completed building net zero or potentially net positive.

Cold Spring, NY

River Architects' own studio in process of renovation, taking an 1870's blacksmith shop and bringing up to 2050-level energy performance. River Architects' Passive Studio is one of the first commercial buildings certified in the US to meet Passive House standard, and will produce more energy than it consumes- allowing for battery storage, electric vehicle charging, and potentially going off the grid. Completion date Fall of 2016.
