ICF Architect / Designer in San Diego, CA

Runner-Up, Best Large Residential, International ICF Builders Awards, 2017 For more than 20 years, Laurie Fisher and LCFA Studio have been designing buildings that win awards and happy clients. Laurie started her education in the Fine Arts, and finished at one of the top architecture schools in the country - University of Wisconsin - Milwaukee. She also spent five years living, studying and working abroad in Paris. Our hands-on field experience with a wide array of construction systems and methods gives us a unique advantage in the realm of boutique custom residential architects. We understand panel schedules, Title 24 Energy Calculations, structural drawings and riser diagrams, without sacrificing creative talent. A good instinct for construction costs and project budgeting ensures that time will not be wasted designing a project that the client can’t afford. LCFA is one of a few architects in Southern California experienced in ICF design, permitting & construction.

ICF was the perfect material for this “Mas Provencal” - a traditional Southern French stone farmhouse. Much research and Laurie's own personal experience in France led to a painstakingly authentic and personalized design. At the center of the home is a jewel: a Moroccan-themed courtyard, delivering light, air and the cool sounds of a bubbling fountain throughout. In the hot summer months, the interior courtyard will serve as a cool oasis from hot east-county sun and winds.
