Installer
ICF Installer in Ohaton, AB
I have extensive experience working in the construction industry for over 30 years. My experience began in 1986 working for Gunther Construction Ltd. in industrial construction in the city of Fort Saskatchewan. This included the installation of concrete foundations, trenches, concrete repair work, grouting, building additions, and renovations. After 2 years with the company, I transitioned to the role of field superintendent. This role gave me considerable experience supervising employees and the completion of many projects. In 2002, I established my own construction business out of Camrose, Alberta. For the next few years, I worked in the Camrose area gaining experience in residential renovations. I continued to work for Gunther Construction as a subcontractor looking after their projects in the Red Deer area as they became available. Duties included pre-job planning and scheduling to complete project on time, managing and directing subtrades on site, “hands on” experience implementing jobs from start to finish, and actively demonstrating the importance of safety on the site. In 2007, I started subcontracting, gaining “hands on” experience in the construction of ICF basements, houses complete to the rafters, construction of the first two ICF warehouses in Camrose and the installation of the Fortress Flooring system. Duties included the installation of footings, placing rebar, pouring concrete, building, and installing window bucks, door/overhead door bucks, formwork for concrete stairs, shoring, formwork for concrete balconies, flush beams, and placing block. I really enjoyed learning about ICF construction and the experience I gained working on these basements. I would welcome the opportunity of being a general installer of ICF construction.
